The following types of permits will be issued starting Nov. 3rd:
- 3 Evenings (5:00 pm – 8:00 am) each day for piled, vegetative materials 20x20 feet or smaller, or running fires less that 1 acre.
- All day, larger piles, or special permits for more than 1 acre must be issued by a forester. Have the landowner contact the Zimmerman Forestry office at (763) 279-4300 or Little Falls Forestry at (320) 232-1061.
- Reminder: Permits are to be written for vegetative materials (grass, leaves, and sticks) only. Requests to burn other materials should be referred to the Area Forestry Office at (320) 232-1061.
- Permittees must call 1 (866) 533-2876 each day they are going to burn to activate the permit.
- Daily burning regulations will be posted on the DNR website.
No permits are required when there is 3” or more of snow on the ground.
