October 2025

The City of Otsego proclaims October 6–12, 2025, as Physician Assistant Week to honor the important role of Physician Associates/Assistants (PAs) in healthcare. PAs are licensed clinicians who provide medical care in all settings, often serving as primary providers, especially in underserved areas. The proclamation highlights their contributions to improving access and quality of care, and recognizes the Minnesota Academy of PAs for supporting their professional growth.

The proclamation recognizes October 15th as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, honoring families who have experienced the loss of a child during pregnancy or early childhood. Organizations like Infants Remembered in Silence (IRIS) provide support to grieving parents in Minnesota and beyond. The day includes a global candle lighting at 7 PM to remember lost children, offering unity and tribute. The observance stems from a 1988 proclamation by President Ronald Reagan, designating October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
