Requirements for Peddlers and Solicitors

Every peddler and solicitor must be registered to visit residents' homes within the City of Otsego. Each person is required to carry the approved license/registration with them at all times. Residents can ask to see proof of registration, which must have the raised City Seal present.

Soliciting hours are between the hours of 8:00 am - 9:00 pm. 

To obtain a Peddler license to sell or register as a Solicitor/Professional Fundraiser within the city limits of Otsego, each applicant must submit the following information to City Hall at the time of application:

 Peddler/Solicitor Application Form 

- Photo Identification with application. Examples are a driver’s license, state issued identification card, school issued identification card.
- Fee:  $100.00 annually (peddler only). 
- Licenses are valid for one year.

Upon receipt of the completed application and payment of the license fee, the City Clerk or designee shall determine if the application is complete and order any background checks to verify the information provided within the application.  A license shall be issued within ten (10) business days of receipt of a complete application unless grounds exist for denial. Failure to submit all of the required documentation will delay the processing of the license. If you have any further questions, please contact Otsego City Hall at
