Highlights
Jan. 12th Council Meeting
1.  Annual Business & Appointments  View the city councilmembers pages to see their updated 2026 committee appointments. As part of annual required business Otsego has dedicated the Star News as the official newspaper. Notices, ordinances, and other legal matters will be published in this paper.

Jan. 26th Council Meeting
2.  Staffing and Hiring Updates  Mike Scott, Interim Fire Chief, provided a report on the recruitment process and timeline for the new Otsego Fire Chief and other fire department positions.  (View the City Council discussion beginning at 11:00). Please visit the city website to view current job openings—two additional positions are now available.

3.  Local Board of Appeals & Equalization Meeting  scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 6:00 pm. This meeting provides property owners the opportunity to appeal the valuation or classification of their property to the City Council and County Assessor. Formal notices of valuations will be mailed in the spring by Wright County.

4.  Preliminary Approval of Foss Swim School  located near the Good Day Car Wash in the Great River Centre of Otsego 8th Addition

5.  Infrastructure Projects Advancement, approval of plans and bid advertisements for 2026 Mill and Overlay Projects, approval to prepare plans for Water System Connection Phase 2, and acceptance of a proposal for geotechnical services for the South Central Water Treatment project.

City Council Meetings
The City Council meets the 2nd & 4th Monday of every month at 7:00 pm at Prairie Center (8899 Nashua Ave. NE). Meeting agendas are available at the meeting or online at: OtsegoMN.gov/AgendaCenter.
