Sanitary Sewer Cleaning

The City of Otsego Utilities Department performs annual cleaning of the sanitary sewer mainlines using a Jetter Truck to maintain proper system function. This July, utility crews will clean approximately 20 miles of sewer lines. The jetting process involves a high-pressure hose that clears debris and buildup from the pipes. During this work, residents may notice noise, air bubbles in lower-level toilets, or occasional toilet splashing. Please keep the lids of lower-level toilets closed during this time.
